Christmas Party Time Y'all!

Well, its that time of year again... So here is the breakdown! The annual CBL Christmas party will be tonight, Friday the 9th, at 7:00 in Rudder 301. We hope to see all of your beautiful faces there! We will be having some delicious snacks and doing a white elephant gift exchange (gifts worth $5-7 please). Also, come dressed in a festive outfit of your choice! It can be a goofy Christmas sweater, a fancy Christmas oufit, or anything else that has plenty of Christmas spirit :)

Last but not least... We will be selling some awesome t-shirts for this party! They are white, long-sleeved, and will make you look like the best CBL snowman ever created. Or maybe the only CBL snowman... but either way, you should all bring $7 so you can get yours, because they're going to go fast!
Here is a graphic of the shirt:https://mailhost-3.tamu.edu/service/home/~/?auth=co&id=33341&part=2.2

We are all very proud of y'all for your hard work this semester, and look forward to wrapping it up together tonight! See you there!

Service Project!

Taking a break from finals to end the year with a service project for Habitat for Humanity. We had a surplus of people sign up, so we were able to take on two projects! We have one group painting the interior of a home and the second group working at the Habitat Restore. We are super excited and praying God moves and people are refreshed by the break from studies.

iServe

Howdy! We are very excited because this Wednesday starting at 10:30 is iServe!  iServe follows in the mold of “The Day” from last year.  If you’re not familiar with iServe or The Day, we pass out pizza and water on campus and witness to the recipients.  Last year we held The Day at the Zone in front of Kyle Field.  This year, we will be in Academic Plaza.  We are very excited about this opportunity to minister to our campus and meet both the physical and spiritual needs of our peers.  Pray that we would be bold yet courteous in our interactions and that the hearts of our fellow Aggies would be open to the gospel.  We appreciate your prayers more than you know!

We are happy to announce the 2011 Date Party... Characters Welcome! We are encouraging members to grab a date, dress up as their favorite movie character (or duo for you those couples out there) and come to the General Services Complex this Saturday night at 8pm. We'll are supplying food and refreshments, and encouraging members to come hungry to eat and have a great time! Games, dancing, and costume awards are to be expected. We are so excited to see everyone dressed up and further bonding as an organization. Pray for this to be a night of great fun!

Fall Retreat

Howdy all,

The fall retreat is upon us (WHOOP!). This year we have a record-breaking number of attendees, 78!!!! It is amazing to see how far the Lord has brought this organization.

The format is very similar to the fall retreat in years past. We are going back to Carolina Creek in Huntsville. We are planned to arrive around 5:30 Friday evening and return to College Station around the same time Saturday evening. We have some awesome praise and worship, led by Jacob Lofland and his band. We are planning on continuing the tradition of the prayer walk (hopefully it will run smoothly).

We certainly plan for this trip to be one of the building blocks in the foundation of awesome fellowship and friendships among the members of CBL. Please be in prayer for our safe travel to and from Carolina Creek, and just that the Lord's presence will be with us during our time.

Thanks and Gig 'Em

Freshman Care Packages

The Campus Reach Committee will be assembling and distributing care packages for freshmen this Tuesday, October 4th, in the Commons lobby. The care packages will include full NKJV bibles, playing cards, snacks, and a list of verses for different situations. Please be praying that the recipients of these 300 care packages would see God's love and pursuit for their hearts.

Why a Blog?

It may seem curious why a student organization has a blog. Don't we have enough to do as students besides writing a blog about the things we do as students? Perhaps, but nonetheless we want to have this blog be a resource for parents, alumni, fellow students, and random fans of CBL to find information about how to be praying for and encouraging CBL as we navigate through the year.

That being said, we will have regular updates on this blog about upcoming events and how you can be praying for this organization in light of those.

Thanks for being in the loop!
